250 million dollars of solar energy in Aguascalientes
In the next two years, the operation in Aguascalientes of five electricity generating plants from the sunlight with an investment of 250 million dollars is expected.
The first two photovoltaic parks will come into operation in September of this year with an estimated production of 350 megawatts, while the remaining three will be completed between 2019 and 2020. In the end, an output of more than one thousand megawatts is estimated.
The president of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), Guillermo Ignacio García Alcocer, commented that Aguascalientes has favorable characteristics for the establishment of this type of infrastructure thanks to its location, climatic conditions, among other factors.
Likewise, he mentioned that the possibility of prices becoming cheaper grows as the production of electrical energy moves towards renewable sources.
